Update on federal policy changes

Campus Community,  

I communicated with you yesterday about a pause — issued by President Donald Trump’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) — on agency grant, loan and other financial assistance programs related to our research efforts. That directive was rescinded by the White House this afternoon. 

We continue to analyze other executive orders issued and will closely monitor federal policy changes as they occur. We are committed to keeping you informed of any impacts to the university and will share additional information on https://pres.uky.edu/monitoring-federal-changes-2025.   

In the meantime, please direct any questions or concerns to the appropriate areas:  

• Researchers, please send federal agency communications you receive and direct any research-related questions to ospa@uky.edu and vpr@uky.edu. You can also visit this page for research-related updates as we continue to navigate any potential impacts.
• Employees, please communicate with your supervisors, directors, deans and unit administrators, who will elevate questions and concerns to the appropriate university leaders. 
• Leaders and unit supervisors who have questions of law, specifically, should go to the General Counsel.
• For general questions, please email govquestions@uky.edu.
