Weekly Update: Our Continued Progress
The following message was sent to all of campus on Friday, Oct. 8, 2021.
Campus Community,
Your commitment to each other and to our campus continually inspires me.
As of yesterday, we moved past 88.0 percent of our campus being partially or fully vaccinated. That means 90 percent is fully within our reach — a mark of progress and compassion that says so much about who we are and what we do.
Thank you.
As for a breakdown of the vaccination numbers, here’s the latest:
Faculty: 96 percent
Staff: 91 percent
Students: 85 percent
The campus: 87 percent
UK HealthCare: 92 percent
You can read the latest results and other numbers related to our COVID response here.
I hope all of you are gratified by these numbers, even as I know a community like ours is never satisfied. Let’s keep pushing that vaccination number higher as it represents a community doing everything possible to keep our campus safe and healthy.
Some other quick updates:
Employee vaccine incentives: Our employee incentive vaccination program is up and running. If you are interested, you can read more information, including prizes and eligibility, here.
Student vaccine incentives: You can read more about our student incentive program here.
Boosters: Go to ukvaccine.org to sign up for an appointment if you are eligible. This sign-up process is the same one we used last academic year for our vaccine clinics. Other details include:
You must bring your CDC vaccination card or proof of vaccination to the appointment. Replacement cards cannot be issued at the booster appointment. Walk-up appointments will not be accepted.
At this time, you do not have to have a booster shot to be considered fully vaccinated. You can read more about UK and booster shots here.
Remember, we also encourage you to get your flu shot when you come in for a vaccine at one of our locations.
Thank you for all you do and for your continued commitment to UK.
