Next Steps: Review and Revision of UK Administrative Regulations
Campus Community,
In June, the University of Kentucky Board of Trustees overwhelmingly gave final approval to revisions to the institution’s Governing Regulations (GRs).
Many of you played an invaluable role, providing critical feedback and counsel in this process that was underway for several months.
Today, I want to update you about the next steps in this process. The Board directed me to initiate the review and revision of all Administrative Regulations (ARs) to ensure alignment with the institution’s revised GRs.
Pursuant to GR 1 — Declaration of Principles — faculty, student and staff representatives will engage in this work through five focus areas: Student Affairs/Success, Faculty and Academic Affairs, Constitutional and Civil Rights, Research and Finance and Administration.
Work began recently and will continue throughout the rest of 2024.
For more information about committee membership and to remain informed throughout this process, please visit this page on the University Regulations site.
I am grateful to the facilitators and committee members for serving our institution as we move forward with this critical process. With their support and leadership, I am confident that we will be better positioned to advance the health, economy and quality of life for the state we serve through outstanding education, research, service and care. That is our strategic imperative, and I look forward to what we will continue to accomplish together.
