Campus Community,

Last Friday, the University of Kentucky Board of Trustees gave initial approval, following a first reading, to a series of revisions to our Governing Regulations (GRs). This is part of a process to revise our rules and regulations to help us better align our community and accelerate our collective efforts to advance Kentucky.

You can read more about the actions from last week here, as well as PR 6 and the revised regulations.

I know that many of you are asking, “what’s next” for our community. I would like to share a video message with you to discuss the work ahead of us and what it means for UK students, faculty and staff.

This process to revise our rules and regulations will not create change overnight. We will be thoughtful and will continue to listen to your feedback as we take these next steps together.

This community is a special place. All our people help us serve our state through four inextricably connected missions — education, research, service and care.

Thank you for being part of this incredibly powerful community. I look forward to our continued work together as we make even stronger our commitment to a healthier, wealthier and wiser Kentucky.
