Key Takeaways

  • This week was a historic one in the life of our university, as Ashland-based King’s Daughters officially became part of the UK family.
  • The end of the fall semester is fast approaching. We want to encourage our students to finish strong and take advantage of the resources available on our campus.
  • We also want to support our faculty and staff, who do so much to help ensure the success of our students and are part of everything that we do to advance Kentucky.

Extending healing throughout Kentucky

This week, Ashland-based King’s Daughters officially became part of the UK family. The largest employer in northeastern Kentucky, this strong regional health system has decades of service as an outstanding provider of care.

Advancing Kentucky is our north star. It guides everything that we do. The health of our state — and the health of our people — is a critical part of that mission.

Our work with King’s Daughters is evidence of our enduring and unflinching commitment to extending outstanding care and compassion throughout Kentucky.

The end of another semester

As the end of the semester quickly approaches, I want to encourage students to finish strong and take advantage of any of the resources available to you to succeed academically. Our Office for Student Success — with nearly 30 units and programs — is devoted to supporting all students during this time and throughout the year.

In that same sense, too, our employees play a crucial role in our students’ success. Please encourage your students to seek out resources, including those linked above, as they navigate this stressful time of year.

I also encourage employees to explore the many work-life and well-being offerings, including mental health resources, for faculty and staff through UK Human Resources.

Thank you for all you do to ensure we are a community that cares and that remains fixed on our north star of advancing this state.
