Project 12: Create a Diversity/Inclusivity Master Plan

Project Leads: Andrew Smith (Assistant Provost for Health and Wellness) and Mary Vosevich (Vice President for Facilities Management; Chief Facilities Officer)

Charge: The Project #12 team will contract (through a formal procurement process) a cultural ecologist to perform a full facilities audit. The team will work with the ecologist to draft a Diversity and Inclusivity Master Plan. After working with and receiving feedback from the DEI Workgroup, respective advisory group, Leadership Team, and the DEI Chair, the Master Plan will be presented to UK leadership for consideration.

Project 13: Create an Art Fund for Capital Projects

Project Lead: Melody Flowers (Executive Director for Strategic Analysis and Policy; Office of the EVPFA)

Charge: Create a fund to purchase diverse and inclusive art for capital projects of $5 million or more (minimum of $50,000 and maximum of $1,000,000 per project). The team will serve as an adviser to the capital project owner (the department or unit funding the capital project) on diverse art appropriate to the overall capital project.

Project 14: Expand Supplier Diversity Purchasing Program

Project Lead: Barry Swanson (Chief Procurement Officer)

Charge: This team will determine ways to enhance the supplier diversity purchasing program to increase the University’s support of diverse businesses in Lexington. This team should also consider similar opportunities around Kentucky and throughout the country.
