Campus Community,

Last year, the Work Location Workgroup began a thoughtful process to ensure we support our residential campus while remaining flexible, where appropriate, with remote and hybrid work arrangements.

Today, I am pleased to share the final step in that process.

Leaders in each of our campus areas recently made decisions about which positions will be eligible — if a departmental or unit leader believes it is appropriate — to request a remote or hybrid work arrangement going forward. Leaders will be communicating those eligibility decisions over the next couple of weeks within their units.

Any campus staff employee in an eligible position may now submit their formal request via a form under Employee Self Service in myUK. Instructions on how to complete the form are available here. Instructions for supervisors on how to review and enter a decision on requests are available here.

This form is only for campus staff. UK HealthCare will continue to maintain separate guidelines on hybrid and remote work.

Any eligible campus staff member with an existing remote or hybrid arrangement or interested in implementing one must submit their request by Sept. 1. Leaders in each area have designated who will have authority to approve or deny requests.

As we enter a more formal structure for work location, it may take a few weeks to complete a full review on some requests. Campus staff should continue their current work arrangements until they receive a decision on their new request. Staff will have 30 days to transition if any decision results in a change to their current work arrangement.

The full work location guidelines are available on the Human Resources website.

Online training related to these guidelines is available to staff and supervisors by searching for the following course titles in myUK Learning:

I want to thank the Work Location Workgroup for their focused approach to this important topic, as well as each member of our campus community who provided feedback on the guidelines.

Thank you for all you do to serve and advance the Commonwealth.
