Taking care of yourself—and taking care of each other—is critical to thrive as individuals and as an institution. We encourage members of our community to take advantage of the many mental health resources UK has to offer. Whether it's attending an event where you can pet a furry friend, or scheduling an appointment with our Counseling Center, UK has many opportunities for you to prioritize your well-being.

Free Mental Health Resources Available to UK Students

UK Behavioral Health Services

Whether students need continued care for an existing psychological condition, additional support or guidance with new or unexpected psychological concerns, or have an acute need for psychiatric care – our behavioral health team can help. Make an appointment to see a board certified psychiatrist by calling (859) 323-5511.

Center for Support and Intervention

The Center for Support and Intervention is a team of non-clinical case managers dedicated to helping students navigate life stressors during their time at UK. With in-depth knowledge of resources on and off campus, the office provides care and support to students by identifying their needs, supporting them through various challenges and making the connections they need to be successful.

UK Counseling Center

The Counseling Center supports the mental well-being and academic success of students by providing groups, workshops, brief therapy and relaxation spaces. Services are free and confidential for undergraduate, graduate and professional students at UK.

Integrated Success Coaching

Integrated Success Coaches support a student’s success and well-being as a Wildcat. Whether a student needs help with academics, leadership, health or wellness, an ISC coach will work with them to create a personalized action plan that focuses on goal setting, time management, study strategies and more.

TRACS (Triage, Referral, Assistance and Crisis Support)

TRACS provides in-person and virtual mental health services for individuals experiencing various forms of mental health issues and/or crisis. Programs ensure that individuals in distress receive timely and appropriate care, bridging the gap between immediate needs and long-term solutions. TRACS is the gateway for referrals to the UK Counseling Center and makes referrals to other on/off-campus resources.
